Senior Systems Architect

Role Overview
AECOM’s Systems Engineering team in Warrington specialises in multi-disciplinary consultancy for nuclear new build, decommissioning, defence, and MoD projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify Systems, Sub-systems, and Components (SSCs), defining interfaces and relationships.
- Optimise system performance through requirements analysis and design.
- Mitigate risk via system behaviour modelling and analysis.
- Engage with client teams (technical and non-technical) internationally and on-site.
- Author and review technical documentation and processes.
- Growth of capability: Apply Systems Engineering best practices to enhance AECOM’s nuclear engineering team.
- Collaborate across civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
Sinergy required:
- Work independently and as part of inter-disciplinary teams, ensuring complete, unified designs under deadlines.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in STEM (or equivalent experience/qualifications).
- Professional STEM qualifications, preferably bypassing Chartered Engineer or on-track for CIPS/Mraciones etc.
- SC Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- 2–5 years minimum experience in Systems Engineering within highly regulated industries (defence, nuclear, oil & gas).
- Proven track record with:
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) & SysML.
- The V-model lifecycle and Systems Engineering processes.
- Writing technical documentation and risk management.
- Industry standards (e.g., SEBoK, INCOSE, NASA tools).
