The Studio We are a video game development studio with offices in Guildford, UK and Utrecht, Netherlands. Located within vibrant developer and publisher communities, we prioritise quality and excellence, ensuring our partners and players remain central to our mission.
Games are not just about gameplay—we balance what you see, how you play, and how it makes you feel. A thrilling new project is underway, and as a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll join a devoted technical team focused on delivering innovative solutions and optimisations.
The Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with graphics, gameplay, engine, and tools teams in our core tech division. Daily responsibilities include:
- Writing clean, well-documented C++ code, adhering to project standards
- Designing and implementing scalable, data-driven architectures within engine infrastructure
- Working closely with the Lead Systems Engineer to evaluate technical feasibility in game systems and engine structures
- Cross-department collaboration to design and refine key engine features
- Profiling and resolving performance bottlenecks across CPU, GPU, and memory
- Ensuring high-quality, maintainable outputs ranging from system design to granular functions

Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong end-to-end contribution from development to shipping, with a focus on optimisation and porting
- Exhibit expertise in hardware optimisation across platforms
- Demonstrate coding proficiency in C++, including multithreading, design patterns, and systems architecture
- Understand game engine architecture across multiple engines, including proprietary systems
- Apply problem-solving and debugging skills in technical challenges
Bonus Considerations
- Familiarity with additional coding languages
- Deep knowledge of hardware architecture
- Experience with build systems
Qualifications & Requirements
Strong candidates will present:
- Proven experience in game development from design through to shipping, emphasising optimisation techniques
- Simulation-aware hardware control across multiple platforms
- Strong C++ skills with emergent multithreading and system architecture expertise
- Intimate familiarity with game engine infrastructure and proprietary systems
- Proactive debugging and problem-solving capabilities
