At Cavendish Nuclear, we are dedicated to creating a safe and secure world—together. Join us as a Senior Systems Engineer and contribute directly to a major, long-term nuclear programme based in either Bristol or Warrington, Cheshire.
The Role
In this impactful Senior Systems Engineer position, your responsibilities will span across critical aspects of systems engineering in complex programmes:
- Lead and direct systems engineering activities targeting high-impact outcomes
- Assign tasks and oversee project delivery by a team of systems engineers
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering capability growth
- Deliver hands-on work in requirements engineering, system architecture, and integration
- Steer and participate in technical and design reviews with key stakeholders

This is a full-time role (37 hrs/week) with flexible hybrid working options.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Experience
You must demonstrate:
- Strong systems engineering expertise, including:
- Requirements engineering
- System architecture
- Integration, verification, and validation
- Leadership in mentoring engineers within engineering teams
- Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering programmes
- Capability to review technical outputs and lead engineering/design reviews
- Application of full-lifecycle systems engineering
Education & Certification
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Chartered Engineer status (or commitment to pursuing chartership) is desirable
Security Clearance
- Must achieve and maintain a Security Check (SC) level clearance (UK-based).
