About the Role
At Cavendish Nuclear, we are committed to creating a safe and secure world. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be part of a pivotal long-term, high-impact nuclear engineering programme and play a critical role in delivering complex systems engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day role will include:
- Leading and directing systems engineering activities across high-stakes nuclear programmes
- Allocating and overseeing delivery from a team of systems engineers
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers to build team capability
- Hands-on systems engineering for requirements, architecture, and system integration
- Leading and contributing to technical and design reviews with key stakeholders
This is a full-time role (37 hours/week), based either in Bristol or Warrington, Cheshire, with flexible hybrid working options.
Essential Requirements
To excel in this role, you must have:
- Comprehensive systems engineering experience, covering requirements engineering, architecture, integration, verification, and validation
- Experience in leading or mentoring engineers within engineering teams
- Experience working on complex, multidisciplinary engineering programmes
- Proven ability in reviewing technical outputs and leading engineering or design reviews
- Fully applied systems engineering expertise across its full lifecycle

A degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience is also required.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer (MIET/ICE) status, or actively progressing towards chartership.

Minimum formal qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
