Senior Systems Engineer – Spacecraft Projects

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with hands-on experience in spacecraft projects. You will support:
- System design, analysis, and integration
- Cross-subsystem coordination to ensure spacecraft meet functional, performance, and mission requirements
This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and technical leadership across the program lifecycle.
Location: London On-Site Attendance: 1–2 days per month Required Security Clearance: SC (Secure Classification) Experience Level: Senior
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and support technical activities across spacecraft programs
- Manage system-level elements:
- Functional models
- Modes
- Interfaces
- Requirements
- Conduct risk assessments, trade-offs, and technical evaluations
- Support subsystem and software design via multidisciplinary studies
- Lead:
- System assessments
- Baseline definitions
- Budget planning
- Contribute to configuration-controlled engineering documentation
- Support implementation, integration, verification, and validation at system and flight levels
- Improve and refine company-wide systems engineering processes

Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Mandatory space industry experience
- 8+ years in spacecraft system engineering
- Expertise in:
- System requirements
- Trade studies
- Spacecraft design
- Familiarity with:
- Spacecraft assembly
- Integration
- Testing
- Operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Physics, or related field (or equivalent military experience in the same domains)
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge in three+ of the following:
- Avionics
- Power systems
- Propulsion
- Thermal/mechanical engineering
- Control systems
- System testing
- Strong organisation, teamwork, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external customers
