Senior Systems Engineer (IVVQ)

Senior Systems Engineer (IVVQ) – ZeroAvia, Kemble

ZeroAvia is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer (IVVQ) to join our team in Kemble. This critical role will own and drive the planning of validation, integration, verification, and environmental qualification (IVVQ) test campaigns for the ZA200 propulsion system, evolving as programme requirements shift.

The position directly supports the delivery of certified, zero-emission aircraft propulsion systems, playing a vital role in ZeroAvia’s mission to revolutionise green aviation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver IVVQ activities across aircraft, system, and item levels for the ZA200 fuel cell propulsion system
  • Develop and maintain V&V, integration, and qualification plans, ensuring alignment with lifecycle and programme schedules
  • Plan and execute validation, integration, verification, and DO-160G environmental qualification campaigns
  • Authorise test specifications, procedures, execution, and results; lead defect investigation and resolution
  • Lead IVVQ reviews and represent IVVQ at design reviews, managing verification risk and stakeholder alignment (customers, regulators, suppliers)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Airworthiness, Certification, Safety, Test, Design) to deliver IVVQ in compliance with:
    • ARP4754B
    • ARP4761A

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred)
  • 6+ years’ systems engineering experience in aerospace, including certified or in-certification programmes
  • Strong working knowledge of ARP4754B (essential); familiarity with ARP4761/A, DO-178C, DO-254
  • Proven experience in:
    • Planning and executing system-level IVVQ programmes (verification strategy, test development, traceability)
    • DO-160G environmental qualification and supplier test oversight (witnessing and data acceptance)
  • Proficiency in requirements tools (e.g., Polarion)
  • Advantageous: Experience in propulsion, fuel cells, electric, or emerging aerospace systems
