Senior Tech Talent Acquisition Partner
At SumUp, we build simple, affordable financial tools that empower over 4 million small businesses worldwide to get paid, manage their money, and thrive. We are a global team of 3,000+ people across 20+ offices and 90+ nationalities, all dedicated to supporting merchants with excellent products.
As a Talent Acquisition team, we don't just fill seats. We care deeply about hiring excellence and finding people who truly elevate our teams. For us, recruitment is a team sport - we win together, constantly looking at how we can improve and bounce ideas off each other, and always step in to help whenever someone gets stuck or hits a wall.
Our Consumer Tribe - building the SumUp Pay App - is scaling fast and we’re looking for a Senior Tech TA Partner to help the team navigate London’s hyper-competitive market, where top engineers are in high demand. Your superpower will be understanding how to position SumUp's massive scale and impact to passive talent. Operating as a true talent advisor, you will own hiring across Engineering, Product, Data, and Design (EP&D) for the Consumer portfolio, scaling the technical teams responsible for turning SumUp into a leading financial services platform.

What you'll do
- Lead the full-cycle hiring journey for complex roles across Engineering, Product, Design, and Data for the Consumer tribe, maintaining a consistently high talent bar as we scale.
- Build trusted, embedded relationships with Consumer leadership. You’ll serve as a proactive advisor rather than a reactive coordinator - running regular hiring cadences, maintaining pipeline visibility, and providing market-led recommendations on role prioritization.
- Excel at identifying, engaging, and closing high-caliber passive tech talent in the London market, knowing how to articulate our technical challenges and unique value proposition effectively.
- Track and analyze funnel health metrics across your portfolio to surface blockers, challenge hiring assumptions, optimize sourcing efforts, and provide stakeholders with clear, honest pipeline updates.
- Create an inclusive hiring process that guarantees an exceptional experience for candidates and hiring teams alike, ensuring we stand out in a crowded market.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- You possess a deep understanding of the London and broader UK tech landscape, with a knack for mapping talent pools and knowing what it takes to attract and win over high-demand, engineering talent.
- You operate as a trusted business partner rather than just executing briefs - confidently managing multi-stakeholder portfolios, advising hiring managers on market realities, and expertly guiding interview calibration and debriefs.
- You have a data-first mindset, using funnel analytics and recruiting metrics to identify what’s working, track pipeline efficiency, and clearly influence stakeholder decisions.
- You have a genuine care for candidate experience, bringing empathy and transparency to every stage of the hiring journey.
