About The Role
As our Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, you'll play a leading role in shaping how StepChange identifies, attracts and selects talent across specialist recruitment, early careers and high-volume hiring. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, designing evidence-based assessment approaches, facilitating assessment centres and building sustainable talent pipelines that strengthen our workforce for the future.
Working across the organisation, you'll partner with leaders to solve complex recruitment challenges while helping shape recruitment practices that deliver an outstanding experience for candidates, hiring managers and colleagues alike.
You'll lead the delivery of strategically important recruitment activity across specialist hiring, early careers and talent attraction.
Working closely with hiring managers and senior stakeholders, you'll design recruitment approaches that combine market insight, inclusive assessment and innovative sourcing strategies to identify exceptional talent.
A significant part of the role will involve designing and facilitating engaging, evidence-based assessment centres across both our Contact Centre recruitment programmes and Early Careers initiatives, ensuring candidates experience a professional, fair and engaging recruitment process while providing hiring managers with robust selection decisions.
Alongside recruitment delivery, you'll contribute to assessment design, talent pipeline development, employer engagement, recruitment projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen recruitment capability across the charity.

What You'll Be Doing
Day to day, you'll:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for specialist, niche and strategically important vacancies.
- Design and lead the facilitation of engaging assessment centres, recruitment events and capability-based selection processes across Contact Centre, Early Careers and specialist recruitment campaigns.
- Build sustainable talent pipelines using proactive sourcing, market insight and workforce intelligence.
- Lead the delivery and ongoing development of StepChange's Early Careers programmes, building relationships with education providers, community organisations and external partners.
- Coach and support Recruiters, helping build capability and consistency across the Recruitment Team.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment and assessment strategies for challenging or high-priority roles.
- Use recruitment data, labour market insight and performance metrics to inform hiring decisions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Lead recruitment projects that enhance assessment, candidate experience, sourcing effectiveness and recruitment technology.
About You
You'll be an experienced Talent Acquisition professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, facilitating engaging assessment centres and delivering recruitment approaches that combine an exceptional candidate experience with robust, evidence-based selection.
You're equally comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, leading large-scale assessment centres, coaching colleagues or managing complex recruitment projects. You combine strong organisational skills with a collaborative approach, using data, insight and sound judgement to make informed recruitment decisions and continuously improve how talent is attracted and selected.
You Will Bring
- Strong stakeholder partnership and influencing skills, with the confidence to build trusted relationships and provide constructive challenge at all levels.
- Experience designing and delivering inclusive, evidence-based selection processes, including structured interviews, assessment centres and recruitment events.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage candidates, hiring managers and external partners.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, balancing recruitment delivery alongside strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- The ability to coach, support and positively influence colleagues through matrix leadership, knowledge sharing and collaborative working.
- Strong analytical capability, using recruitment data, labour market insight and performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities and inform decision-making.
- The resilience and adaptability to provide stability, continuity and leadership within a fast-paced Recruitment / Talent Acquisition function.
