Here’s The Gist
Wolfspeed is growing our U.S. tax team and is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support Federal and State compliance as well as tax accounting under ASC 740. In this role, you will support ongoing domestic income tax audits, the outsourced Federal and State income tax compliance, and the quarterly and annual tax provision under ASC 740 including FIN48 and SOX documentation. You will monitor tax law changes and their impact to Wolfspeed as well as support tax planning and mergers and acquisitions. The successful candidate is a self-starter with considerable tax technical knowledge, analytical capability, and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. This role is expected to advance as Wolfspeed’s tax profile gains complexity.

The Day-to-Day
- Prepare federal and state quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 using ONESOURCE Tax Provision, including FIN 48 and valuation allowance analyses
- Provide assistance to outside service provider preparing the U.S. federal and state tax returns including internal analysis and review of Sch. M calculations, fixed assets, federal and state tax credits, state apportionment, and all required disclosures
- Preparation of U.S. federal and state income and franchise tax quarterly estimated tax payments
- Perform monthly reconciliations of tax accounts
- Assist in state and IRS tax examinations, including responsibility for drafting communications, preparation of responses to information document requests and related inquiries
- Perform annual state nexus review and as needed analyses to adapt to changing business environment
- Support tax technical research and strategic planning in association with tax reform implementation and, as needed, merger & acquisition activities
- Coordinate with other Tax Managers and Director on various technical research and strategic planning related to tax planning and/or merger & acquisition activities
- Assist in ensuring compliance with SOX 404 controls and testing

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
- Minimum of 3 years in Public Accounting or Industry with a background in Corporate income tax including ASC 740 experience and FIN 48 knowledge
- CPA certification or active progress towards certification
- Direct experience with U.S. federal and state compliance
- Experience using ONESOURCE Tax Provision or other similar software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Motivated to learn and grow within the organization
- Team player who displays Wolfspeed’s values
- Organized with the ability to work many projects and tasks simultaneously
- Detail oriented with a focus on completing a work product requiring minimal changes
