Please note: this is an on-site role based in Jersey and relocation is required.

About Us

KPMG in the Crown Dependencies has offices located in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man and is part of KPMG Islands Group, a regional network of over 3,000 professionals across 11 island jurisdictions.

We provide Audit, Tax, and Advisory services to a broad range of clients, particularly in insurance, asset management, and international business.

The Family Office and Private Client (“FOPC”) tax team is specifically looking to recruit a Senior Consultant who will be situated in Jersey to assist with the fast-growing nature of our proposition. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team and will be heavily involved with both local and UK tax compliance and the drafting of complex tax advice for clients regarding their UK and Crown Dependencies tax affairs.

The successful candidate will be expected to reside and work in Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands. Full relocation support will be provided.

The role: Senior Tax Consultant, Family Office and Private Client

As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will report directly to the Private Client Tax Manager, with close reporting lines into the wider FOPC team and Head of Family Office and Private Client. This role is demanding and varied, yet very rewarding, as you will be regularly exposed to interesting client scenarios.

Role and Responsibilities:

Primarily, the successful candidate’s duties will include the following:

  • Regularly drafting written tax advice in the form of memos, letters, reports, and email correspondence.
  • Overseeing a portfolio of individual and corporate compliance, supervising the work of junior members of the team and performing first reviews of tax returns.
  • When required, attending client meetings with management, and acting as a central point of contact for communication with the client.
  • Actively keeping up to date with changes in local and international tax matters and assisting with the production of news bulletins for clients.
  • Independently administering and managing projects from start to end, often including liaising with international KPMG offices.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team, including providing feedback and relevant training

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role combines tax compliance and advisory work, and therefore the successful candidate will be confident preparing both written work and computations to a high standard. As part of a constantly growing business, there are great opportunities to progress both with the Crown Dependencies and internationally.

Requirements:

  • A passion to learn and natural curiosity towards their own development.
  • The ability to effectively research and form a cohesive argument around particular points of tax law, which are often complex and detailed.
  • Fluent English and excellent written ability.
  • Excellent communication skills through having the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in a practice accounting environment (although those with industry experience are also recommended to apply and will still be considered).
  • ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA/ATT qualified, or part-qualified with a view to finish in the next 6-12 months.
  • A good, working, technical knowledge of personal tax issues including knowledge of income, capital gains, inheritance, and other taxes.
  • It is preferable that the successful candidate has prior experience in a private client setting, albeit not essential if a sound understanding of relevant tax principles can be demonstrated.
  • Given the technical nature of this role, candidates who would be suitable will ideally have a law or accounting background, albeit this is not essential.
