Senior Tax Investigations Manager

Location: Birmingham Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

About the Role

A leading Top 10 Accountancy Firm is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Tax Investigations Manager to join its growing Tax Disputes & Investigations team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an established tax investigations professional to take a leading role in managing complex HMRC enquiries, disclosures, COP8/COP9 cases and tax disputes. Working closely with Partners and Directors, you will advise a diverse client portfolio ranging from owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals to large corporates and international groups. The role offers significant autonomy, strong progression prospects and the opportunity to become a key figure within a highly respected tax practice.

Managing HMRC enquiries, disclosures, compliance checks and settlement negotiations.

Acting as a trusted adviser to clients on tax risk and controversy matters.

Supporting clients through COP8 and COP9 investigations.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Managing and reviewing the work of Managers and junior team members.

Supporting business development activities and identifying new opportunities.

Working closely with Partners on high-profile and technically challenging assignments.

Requirements

CTA qualified (preferred) and/or ACA, ACCA or ATT qualified.

Significant experience within Tax Investigations, Tax Disputes, Tax Controversy or HMRC Enquiries.

Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and HMRC processes.

Proven ability to manage complex cases and client relationships.

Commercially minded with strong business development capabilities.

Previous experience within a Top 20, Top 10, Big 4 or specialist tax advisory firm.
