Location: Nationwide (City of London HQ) Work Type: Hybrid & highly flexible Salary: Up to £95,000
A leading Big 4 accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Senior Tax Investigations Manager into its established tax disputes team, working across:
- Corporate tax investigations
- HMRC enquiries
- Private wealth matters
This role is ideal for someone seeking autonomy, flexibility, and Partner exposure while developing work through a strong internal client network. Think: "build relationships across a serious platform" rather than traditional sales approaches.

About the Role
The Senior Tax Investigations Manager will play a key leadership role in HMRC enquiries, tax investigations, and complex disclosure matters, advising a diverse client base across corporates, entrepreneurs, and private wealth holders.
- Based nationwide with flexible working options

Responsibilities
- Lead HMRC enquiries, tax investigations, and complex disclosure matters
- Advise corporates, entrepreneurs, and private wealth clients on optimal dispute strategies
- Act as the senior point of contact for both clients and HMRC engagements
- Support highly regarded Partner on complex advisory cases
- Foster client relationships and influence senior stakeholders
- Review reports, correspondence, and settlement positions
- Mentor Managers and junior team members within the organisation
Requirements
Ideal candidates would have:
- Strong experience in tax investigations, tax disputes, or HMRC enquiries
- Background in:
- Accountancy
- Specialist tax advisory
- Legal tax disputes
- Former HMRC experience
- Expertise across:
- Corporate tax
- Outward Remittance Based Systems (OMBs)
- High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs)
- Private wealth matters
- Confidence managing client relationships and influencing senior stakeholders
- Highly relevant professional qualifications such as:
- CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser)
- ACA (Certified Accountant)
- ACCA (Chartered Accountant)
- ATT (Tax Technical Specialist)
