Technical Business Analyst

At Adaptive

At Adaptive, we are a financial consulting firm collaborating with capital, commodity, and digital market participants, specialising in technology-driven differentiation.

Our teams design and deliver complex front-office technology solutions using proven accelerators—giving our clients long-term competitive advantage. These clients include:

  • The world’s leading investment banks
  • Top investment managers
  • Fintechs
  • Capital market service providers

With a global presence in London, New York, Manila, Barcelona, and Montreal, we pride ourselves on delivering powerful, elegant, and intuitive trading technology solutions.

We’re now seeking a Technical Business Analyst—someone who seamlessly bridges high-level product vision and detailed delivery execution in dynamic, technically rich environments.

You Are...

A strategic thinker who thrives at both the big-picture level and granular, detail-focused execution.

  • A natural bridge-builder: Equally comfortable between engineers and stakeholders.
  • A problem-solver who excels in ambiguity, bringing clarity and structure to complex challenges.
  • A curious, inquiry-driven mind—genuinely interested in how systems work, not just what they do.
  • A collaborative team player who believes the best solutions emerge from diverse perspectives.

You Have...

Technical & Mindset Expertise

  • A technical and domain-driven mindset with hands-on experience working alongside engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, system interactions, state machine replication, and front-office technology.
  • Background in QA, Software Engineering, Technical Business Analysis, or another highly technical product environment.

Product & Systems Orientation

  • A product-first approach, blending Domain-Driven Design (DDD) with deep systems and user impact understanding.
  • Ability to clearly define and document requirements—both functional and non-functional.
  • Strong grasp of performance, scalability, resilience, and availability in modern platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Kanban practices across the full software development lifecycle.

Collaboration & Disposition

  • Confidence contributing to architecture and design discussions, distilling complexity into deliverable action items.
  • Skill in creating process flows, sequencing diagrams, and alignment documentation for technical and operational alignment.
  • Dynamic communication style: structured, pragmatic, and adaptable across diverse stakeholder groups.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
