FlexMedical Solutions is growing.
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Technical Buyer to join our expanding team in Livingston, Scotland.
Working within a highly innovative CDMO environment focused on diagnostics and medical devices, this is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting both R&D programmes and commercial manufacturing operations for a diverse portfolio of UK and international customers.
At FlexMedical Solutions, we help our customers bring their ideas to life and create a healthier tomorrow through the design, development, and manufacture of cutting-edge diagnostic technologies. Our expertise spans assay development, biosensor manufacturing, screen printing, laser ablation, reagent formulation, and final device assembly.
This role sits at the heart of our operation.
You will take ownership of technical procurement, supplier management, materials planning, and inventory coordination across multiple concurrent projects and products in a fast-paced regulated environment. You’ll work closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure continuity of supply, cost optimisation, and operational excellence.

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within:
• Medical devices • Diagnostics / IVD • Pharmaceuticals • Scientific manufacturing • Regulated engineering or technical production environments
Key areas of responsibility include:
• Technical procurement and supplier negotiation • Production and material planning • ERP/MRP system management • Supplier performance and quality compliance • Inventory optimisation and continuity of supply • Supporting scaling operations and process improvement initiatives
You will ideally bring:

• Strong procurement and planning experience within a regulated industry • Experience working to ISO13485, GMP, or similar standards • Exposure to high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environments • Strong ERP/MRP capability (Business Central experience beneficial) • Excellent supplier negotiation and stakeholder management skills • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing life sciences and medical technology business.
