At WSP, you’ll join a global team shaping the future of Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity, contributing to landmark projects and working alongside industry leaders. As a Cyber Security Consultant, you’ll:
- Deliver cutting-edge cybersecurity services across OT/IT environments, digital resilience, and industry regulation (NIS2, NIST, ISO 27001, ISA/IEC 62443).
- Shape client strategies and solutions that align with global standards and emerging threats.
- Lead projects through full lifecycle delivery, from compliance advice and governance frameworks to risk assessments and technical assurance.
- Grow the Cyber Security Capability at WSP, defining new services and influencing industry trends.
You’ll collaborate with clients, regulators, and partners—balancing technical expertise with business acumen—while mentoring junior team members and pioneering innovation in secure systems engineering.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Compliance Leadership
- Advise clients on cybersecurity compliance, aligning with frameworks like NIS-D, NIST, ISO 27001, ISA/IEC 62443, and sector-specific standards.
- Develop governance models, ISMS frameworks, and cybersecurity policies tailored to business needs.

Technical & Risk Assessment
- Conduct threat/risk analyses, architecture reviews, and cybersecurity control assessments.
- Tailor requirements zu client priorities, translating technical needs into actionable solutions.

Project Delivery & Innovation
- Lead OT/IT cybersecurity deliverables across digital transformation and system integration projects.
- Present solutions to clients, advocating best-practice digital resilience approaches.
- Collaborate with SCADA, telecoms, safety-critical, and cloud environments to mitigate risks.

Capability Growth
- Contribute to service expansion, defining new offerings for clients with evolving security needs.
- Foster team development, mentoring early-career professionals and driving professional growth.

- Cross-Functional Engagement
- Partner with government agencies, suppliers, and supply chains to address complex cybersecurity challenges.
- Work with proposal teams on consultancy-critical documentation and client proposals.
Requirements
Professional Experience
You’ll bring 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity expertise, ideally within consulting, systems engineering, or OT domains, with a focus on:
- Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity: Deep understanding of ioT/IIoT, SCADA, telecoms, and mission-critical systems.
- Safety-Critical & Risk Management: Experience with ISA/IEC 62443, NCSC CAF frameworks, and Agile/ITIL processes.
- Secure Systems Lifecycle: Knowledge of DevOps security, secure development methodologies, and cloud security (OT-in-cloud).
- Incident Response & Forensics: Familiarity with SOC operations, digital forensics, and crisis management tools.
- Tools & Platforms: Practical experience with SIEM, EDR/MDR, IDS/IPS, and system hardening.
Key Attributes
- Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior professionals, and guide career development.
- Client-Centric Mindset: Exemplary communication (written and verbal) to present complex solutions to multidisciplinary audiences.
- Sector Expertise: Strength in high-stakes industries—e.g., Energy (Nuclear, Oil/Gas, Renewables), Healthcare, Aviation, or Critical Infrastructure.
- Problem-Solving: Creative approach to high-risk environments, balancing technical rigor with business pragmatism.
- Regulatory Agility: Ability to navigate global standards (e.g., GDPR, EU NIS2) and local compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (a chartership or professional registration is a strong advantage).
- Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or OT-specific credentials) are highly beneficial.
