Senior Technical Consultant - OT Cyber Security
Cyber Security Consultant – Global OT/IT Cybersecurity Capability Team

About the Role
As one of the world’s leading engineering, professional services and technical consultancy firms, WSP drives innovation to deliver solutions that have profound, long-term impact. Our recent global digital strategy has recognised Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity as a key growth area, and we now seek a Cyber Security Consultant to join our industry-leading cybersecurity team, offering expertise across sectors such as energy, rail, healthcare, smart infrastructure, and aviation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultancy in alignment with client needs across OT/IT and Digital Transformation projects
- Lead cybersecurity deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, delivering compliance advice, governance frameworks, control assessments and solutions
- Develop Cyber Security and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) alongside frameworks like NIS-2, NIST, ISO 27001, and ISA/IEC 62443
- Contribute to threat modelling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews, ensuring tailored security solutions
- Work with global clients, government agencies, partners, and supply chains to design secure technical and procedural solutions
- Support the team in pitching client proposals and defining new cybersecurity services for WSP’s growth strategy
- Drive client presentations, offering best-in-class Digital Resilience strategies

Requirements
Skills & Experience
You’ll demonstrate skills and expertise in multiple areas, including:
- OT/IT/IoT cybersecurity, with hands-on experience in:
- Telecoms, SCADA, mission-critical, safety-critical, or big data architectures
- Cloud security (including OT in the cloud)
- Secure DevOps, security systems engineering, and SOC operations
- Industry specialisation in sectors such as energy (nuclear/oil/gas/electricity), rail/road, healthcare, aviation, or maritime
- Practical experience with cybersecurity platforms and tools, including:
- IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR/MDR, and system/device hardening
- Risk management and governance, such as:
- Threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, Risk matrix methodologies
- ISA/IEC 62443 and NCSC Government frameworks (e.g., Cyber Assessment Framework)
- OT, IT or electronics engineering/systems background with consultancy experience, including:
- Leadership in security-focused teams and mentoring junior professionals
- Previous interaction with suppliers, government bodies, and client stakeholders
Qualifications
- A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Chartership (CEng, CITSEC, or equivalent) in engineering or cybersecurity highly recommended (or a plan to pursue this)
