Job Description
We are recruiting a Senior Technical Information Services Engineer to spearhead innovative Technical Information Management (TIM) and digital documentation solutions for a critical aerospace programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engagement with customers and industry subject matter experts (SMEs) to define, capture, and refine user requirements for TIM solutions
- Develop concepts, specifications, and philosophies for end-to-end technical information management—from design inception to end-user implementation (e.g., for FCAS programmes)
- Explore emerging technologies (e.g., AR/VR and cloud-based platforms) to create next-generation digital solutions
- Collaborate closely with engineering, digital, procurement, and supply chain teams to align TIM requirements across the entire product lifecycle
- Ensure technical information needs are integrated into programme planning, supporting operations, maintenance, training, upgrades, and through-life support
- Coordinate and drive technical documentation delivery—planning activities, defining strategies, and producing clear specifications
- Work with Supply Chain & Procurement to communicate TIM requirements early to suppliers, enabling configuration control and compliance

Core Duties
- Engage with Customer and Industry SMEs to elicit and refine user and system requirements
- Design and document conceptual strategies for managing technical information across design, development, and in-service phases
- Identify technology requirements for next-gen TIM (focusing on digital transformation, cloud-capabilities, and AR/VR)
- Integrate TIM requirements with Core Platform Design Teams and Digital Engineering Strategy working groups
- Engage with Supply Chain & Procurement to embed TIM expectations into supply chain contracts
- Develop lifecycle strategies, from initial design of technical information systems to delivery of end-user documentation
- Plan, coordinate team tasking, and lead reviews to ensure delivery of technical documentation and publications on time and to standard
Essential Skills
- Deep knowledge of UK Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulatory frameworks
- Expertise in engineering principles and the full product lifecycle (concept → in-service support)
- Proven experience managing technical information and documentation—with a strong grasp of configuration control processes and standards
- Degree level (STEM or related field) required, or equivalent industry experience
- Team leadership or supervisory experience to:
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders
- Deliver successful project outcomes
- Mentor, guide, and support teams

You’ll join a collaborative engineering team driving forward-thinking approaches to TIM and technical documentation. Working alongside systems engineers, platform designers, digital innovators, and supply chain specialists, you’ll stay ahead of industry evolution and help shape next-gen digital and sustainable information solutions.
The role provides strong customer exposure, stakeholder influence, and opportunities to create documentation frameworks that future-proof operations, training, and support for advanced military programmes.
