Senior Technical Liaison Aerospace Engineer
STS Engineering Solutions is hiring a Senior Technical Liaison Aerospace Engineer in Manchester, United Kingdom. This role is based on site at the STS hangar in Manchester and supports daily engineering needs for line and check aircraft.
This position is ideal for an experienced aerospace or aviation engineer with a strong liaison engineering background, structural repair experience, aircraft repair substantiation skills and the ability to provide fast, accurate engineering support in a live MRO or aircraft check environment.

Position Summary
The Senior Technical Liaison Aerospace Engineer will provide expedient engineering support to customers on a daily basis. Responsibilities include liaison engineering support, repair design, structural analysis, calculations, drawings, and certification support.
This role requires a strong understanding of FARs, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and Advisory Circulars, along with excellent oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will also understand the airline business, MRO operations, and aircraft check environments, where timely repair development and delivery are essential.
Nature of Work
The Senior Technical Liaison Aerospace Engineer will work at the STS hangar in Manchester, United Kingdom, providing engineering support for line and check aircraft. This position supports aircraft structural discrepancies, repair scheme development, OEM technical data review, customer communication, alternate materials and processes, and repair substantiation.

Educational Background and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university required
- Aviation-related background or Mechanical Engineering background preferred
- Previous engineering experience within the aviation industry desired
- Experience with airline support, structural repairs, MRO engineering, liaison engineering, or MRB engineering desired
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work on site at the STS hangar in Manchester, United Kingdom
- Provide expedient engineering support for line and check aircraft
- Develop repair schemes, including drawings or sketches, for structural aircraft discrepancies
- Prepare supporting analysis and calculations for structural aircraft repairs
- Use Original Equipment Manufacturer technical data, including engineering drawings, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, and related documents
- Communicate with customers during the development of structural repairs and modifications
- Define customer needs, timelines, deliverables, and repair requirements
- Follow up with customers during implementation of proposed repair schemes
- Make changes or revisions to repair schemes to support repair work
- Determine alternate materials and processes while ensuring design requirements, weight optimization, safety, and reliability standards are met
- Provide engineering status updates on work progress as required by the Manager of Engineering

General Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to accomplish structural analysis for substantiating major and minor aircraft repairs
- Thorough understanding of applicable FARs
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and directly with customers
- Strong technical judgement
- Ability to support Maintenance, Operators, OEMs, and Vendor Engineering
- Ability to prepare reports for management and customers

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
