Senior Technical Manager

Location: Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire

At Shanly Homes, we create thoughtfully designed, high-quality homes in some of the South East’s most desirable locations.

As a privately owned, multi award-winning regional housebuilder, we are recognised for delivering distinctive residential developments where design, detail and craftsmanship are central to everything we do.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery of multiple high-quality residential developments across the South East. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will take ownership of projects from planning through to completion, playing a key role in ensuring technical excellence, coordination and buildability across the business.

This is a highly autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, making decisions and driving projects forward. You will be trusted to operate independently while maintaining high standards across technical delivery, consultant management and project coordination.

You will join a collaborative, design-led business where technical quality, attention to detail and delivering exceptional homes are fundamental to every scheme we complete.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will manage all technical aspects of multiple residential developments, working closely with Build, Commercial, Sales and external consultants to ensure coordinated and efficient delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the appointment and management of consultants, ensuring all drawings, reports and technical information are delivered to programme and meet required quality standards
  • Coordinating design information through planning, design freeze and construction stages, identifying and resolving discrepancies at an early stage
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and consultant proposals to ensure buildability, practicality and cost efficiency, including identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Managing planning condition discharges and securing approvals for specialist designs and technical submissions
  • Overseeing utilities coordination, including applications, capacity assessments, diversions and disconnections
  • Supporting and updating technical specifications in collaboration with Sales and Commercial teams
  • Resolving technical and construction issues with site teams, consultants and stakeholders, including attending site visits where required
  • Preparing technical reports and contributing to project review meetings
  • Managing Building Regulations approvals, NHBC registrations and associated compliance requirements
  • Coordinating CDM duties, including pre-construction information, F10 notifications and Health & Safety documentation
  • Producing O&M manuals and Health & Safety Files for project handover
  • Managing Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 agreements, alongside other statutory technical obligations
  • Monitoring technical budgets, consultant claims and project costs
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Building Regulations, legislation and industry best practice

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
