Senior Technical Pricing Analyst – Ageas

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ageas’s Underwriting department, specifically in the Broker Technical Pricing team. This multidisciplinary team is responsible for developing sophisticated statistical risk models to underpinAgeas’s Broker insurance products, including Private Car, Van, Bike, and Household.
While office locations are available in London, Eastleigh, and Bournemouth, the role is fully flexible, accommodating remote work for candidates to support work-life balance.
As a Senior Technical Pricing Analyst, you will:
- Drive strategic change by leveraging new technologies and cutting-edge data science techniques to deliver inorganic growth.
- Support projects by preparing data, conducting actuarial modelling, reviewing results, and deploying high-impact pricing solutions that enhance Ageas’s competitive edge.
- Focus on research and development, contributing to data-driven improvements in model sophistication and operational efficiency.
This role is ideal for an autonomous problem-solver with a proven ability to manage complex projects from conceptualisation to deployment. To further support your career, Ageas will provide a generous study package as you work towards Actuarial qualification.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop complex, robust actuarial models and interpret results to inform innovative pricing strategies.
- Support statistical & actuarial analysis for ad-hoc business problem-solving, collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Compile reports, documentation, and presentations to effectively communicate insights to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to challenge existing methodologies, introducing new analytical techniques for process enhancement.

Essential Requirements
- Mathematics and numerate A-levels with A grades*.
- Degree (2:1 minimum) in a numerate discipline—e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Physics.
- PhD or research-based Master’s degree is a strong advantage.
- Proven analytical expertise, including data manipulation, investigation, and lateral problem-solving.
- Ability to think critically beyond initial assumptions.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Industry experience in actuarial pricing, statistical modelling, or regulated multi-divisional operations.
- Machine learning proficiency (e.g., GBMs, Elastic Net Regression, Random Forests) in Python/R.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software such as Emblem.
- Experience collaborating with teams—articulating complex concepts for knowledge-sharing & decision-making.
