About Magazine London
A state-of-the-art hybrid venue spanning 3,000 sq.m with four versatile internal spaces and an expansive Showground (9,700 sq.m, outdoor capacity: 7,000). Key features include:
- Flexible, modular architecture (patinated steel, black OSB, polished concrete)
- Cutting-edge technical infrastructure supporting up to 10,000 multiformat events
- Hosts conferences, awards, exhibitions, filming, fashion, and live performances
Role Overview
The Senior Technical Production Manager leads all aspects of high-profile event production at Magazine London, including large-scale conferences, exhibitions, activations, and music events. The role demands strategic leadership, cross-team collaboration, and creative problem-solving to deliver flawless, on-time, and budget-conscious productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management:
- Oversee entire production lifecycle: vendor coordination, equipment rental, logistics, staff deployment, and on-site execution.
- Develop and implement Risk Assessments (RAMS) for health, safety, and compliance.

Strategy & Planning:
- Craft timelines, budgets, and production briefs in collaboration with event planners, designers, and clients.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams, from technical crews to logistics, ensuring seamless collaboration.

Operational Excellence:
- cohloat with on-site production teams to ensure efficiency, troubleshooting, and creative solutions during events.
- Maintain professionalism and client satisfaction across high-profile engagements.

Financial & Operational Accountability:
- Track budgets, invoices, and expenses to ensure financial adherence.
- Liaise with sales/marketing to develop promotional content and client-facing event strategies.

Relationships & Development:
- Build and nurture vendor, contractor, and client relationships to drive repeat business.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering growth in event production Best practices.
Requirements
Essential Criteria
- 5–10 years’ experience in high-end event production, with a strong track record in coordinating multi-team logistics.
- Hands-on experience working with external venue sales teams and fostering client partnerships.
- Project management expertise with Vectorworks or equivalent planning software; proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) or similar.
- Driving force in invalidating constant processes and refining a venue’s technical production capabilities.
- Ability to manage multi-site/multi-day events under pressure; unmatched organisational skills.
- However, teamwork under stress and handle conflict resolution.
- Expert in vendor negotiations, contract management, and budget oversight.
- Firsthand experience with high-profile audience shows (e.g., awards, headline concerts).
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft/Google Suite and relational databases.
- Flexibility to work all hours, including evenings/weekends, and travel as required.

- Safety and compliance qualifications:
- IPAF/HFWA (mobile access platforms)
- PASMA (tower scaffolding)
- IOSH (health & safety)
- PAS7909:2011 knowledge (temporary power systems)
- Standard Rigging Practices certifications
- Knowledge of CDM2015 regulations and duty holder roles in event safety.
