Senior Technical Production Manager

About the Role: Scenic Administrator (Updated Role Revised)

On Event Production Co. is one of the UK’s leading live event production and scenic fabrication companies, delivering technical and creative solutions for conferences, awards ceremonies, exhibitions, product launches, fashion shows and live experiences across the UK and Europe.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Production Manager to join our growing team. This client-facing role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional event experiences, supporting major brands, agencies and event organisers.


The Role: Client-Facing Senior Production Manager

You will bring a strong blend of technical production knowledge, scenic build expertise, brand experience, and production management skills. Responsibilities span from project conceptualisation through to hands-on execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, creatively, on budget, and to the highest industry standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Client Management & Relationships

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, and stakeholders as the primary point of contact for project delivery.
    • Interpret creative briefs and develop exceptional production solutions that integrate technical fabrication, scenic elements, and brand experience.
    • Deliver strategic production advice to clients and agencies, aligning creative vision with execution.
  • End-to-End Project Delivery

    • Manage projects from concept to final delivery, including design, planning, installation, live execution, and post-event evaluations.
    • Lead multi-disciplinary teams on-site during build, live operation, and breakdown phases.

  • Technical & Operational Management

    • Oversee technical specifications, CAD layouts, risk assessments, and project documentation integrally.
    • Ensure compliance with budgets, quotations, supplier costs, and profitability goals.
    • Organise logistics, transportation, and resource allocation for complex events.
    • Advise clients on lighting, audio, video, staging, rigging, and event technologies.
  • Creative & Commercial Leadership

    • Identify innovative ways to enhance delegate experiences.
    • Conduct post-project reviews and gather client feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Support business development, client growth, and new business opportunities.

Requirements For the Role

  • Proven industry experience: Minimum of significant experience in event production management, ideally within a live events company, agency or production environment.
  • Vertical expertise: Ability to manage conferences, exhibitions, experiential activations, brand experiences, and live activities from brief to completion.
  • Technical mastery: Comprehensive understanding of audio, lighting, video, staging, rigging, and scenic fabrication systems—including hands-on experience if applicable.
  • Project management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and tight deadlines with exceptional organisational skills.
  • Financial acumen: Experience with budgetary control, procurement, and profitability tracking.
  • CAD & software proficiency: Familiarity with construction or project management software (CAD for technical drawings, Microsoft Office Suite).

Additional Strengths:

  • Experience in hybrid or virtual event production.
  • UK full driving licence (essential for site visits).
