Senior Technical SEO Specialist
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical SEO Specialist based in United Kingdom.
This is an opportunity for an experienced SEO professional to shape the visibility and discoverability of a rapidly growing digital platform.
You will lead technical SEO initiatives that improve performance across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms.
The role combines technical expertise, data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with content and engineering teams.
You will help build scalable SEO processes and AI-assisted workflows that drive organic growth and improve user acquisition.
Working with a talented content team, you will influence how millions of users discover valuable resources online.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex SEO challenges, testing new strategies, and staying ahead of the evolution of search technology.
Accountabilities
As a Senior Technical SEO Specialist, you will own technical SEO strategy and work closely with content and technical teams to maximize organic visibility. You will analyze performance, identify opportunities, and implement scalable solutions across search and AI discovery channels.
- Act as the technical SEO lead, supporting and guiding a content team to maximize search performance.
- Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits covering website architecture, crawling, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and internal linking.
- Research, test, and implement new strategies to improve visibility across search engines and AI-powered platforms.
- Optimize content discovery through emerging SEO approaches, including Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
- Monitor and report on rankings, AI citations, click-through rates, and other key performance indicators.
- Provide actionable recommendations for content improvements and SEO re-optimization.
- Build AI-assisted workflows to improve SEO analysis, reporting, and content production processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and editorial teams to implement technical improvements and scalable solutions.
- Stay informed about evolving search technologies, industry trends, and new discovery channels.

Requirements
You are a highly analytical SEO professional with strong technical expertise and experience improving website visibility at scale. You combine knowledge of modern search practices with a curiosity for automation, AI tools, and emerging digital trends.
- Strong expertise in technical SEO, on-page SEO, and website architecture.
- Hands-on experience with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and similar platforms.
- Experience optimizing content for AI-powered search experiences, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and other AI assistants.
- Strong understanding of structured data (Schema.org), crawling, indexation, and modern web technologies.
- Experience collaborating effectively with engineering and content/editorial teams.
- Comfortable using AI tools and automation solutions to improve workflows and scale SEO operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Bonus qualifications
- Experience scaling organic traffic for a startup through technical SEO and content strategies.
- Knowledge of optimizing visibility across platforms beyond Google, including YouTube, Reddit, Perplexity, and other emerging discovery channels.
- Experience with Python, SQL, workflow automation tools such as n8n or Make, and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- A proactive mindset, ambition, and curiosity for continuous improvement.
