Senior Technician - Street Works and Temporary Traffic Management

The Network Planning division is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, excellent team player with strong technical ability and attention to detail to join their Street Works and Temporary Traffic Management Team.
About the Role
As a Senior Technician, you will collaborate with technical experts to coordinate activities within the highway. Your key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the operation of temporary traffic management, road closures and temporary traffic signals to maintain a safe and reliable network for all users.
- Assessing and reviewing proposed highway works to ensure suitable, safe methods minimise disruption.
- Managing and liaison with other technicians to ensure permit conditions are met while resolving any conflicts between highway works.
- Playing a pivotal role in the Highways Network Information Centre:
- Monitoring pre-emptive traffic management systems and making key operational decisions via IT and messaging facilities.
- Reducing disruption and congestion during unplanned incidents on the network.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and maintain key relationships.

You must demonstrate:
- A positive, constructive approach to problem-solving with a strong customer service focus, prioritising customer needs.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.
- Strong confidence in applying technical expertise while maintaining clear, effective communication.
