This Technologist position is part of Castro’s Castrol Product Development team, where you’ll be immersed in developing new lubricants for market deployment, contributing to high-profile projects and global stakeholder engagement. You’ll work autonomously while collaborating across functional teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Lead or participate in development and test programmes to deliver new lubricant products to market, giving attention to feasibility, timelines, and budgets.
- Budget Management: Oversee budgets of $50K to $1M, ensuring cost accuracy and transparent forecasting.
- Networking: Drive effective internal and external partnerships, including:
- Product testing, deployment, quality, stewardship, intellectual assets, and research & innovation teams.
- Supppliers, OEMs, technical consultancies, Castrol marketing, and Legal teams.
- Communication: Regular briefings with project stakeholders to monitor progress, set milestones, and improve delivery.
- Knowledge Sharing: Develop and disseminate expertise to enhance continuous improvement within the Product Development team.

Education & Experience
Essential:
- Degrees/equivalent in chemistry, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Project delivery experience in product development, engineering, or research.
- Proven track record of collaborative work, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and influencing stakeholders.
- Proficiency in designing novel work programmes.
Desirable:
- Experience in lubricants, additives, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
- Knowledge of product development processes, fuels, lubricants, mechanical engineering, and/or automotive/manufacturing systems.

Working Environment
- Hybrid office/remote working arrangement.
- Up to 25% travel required.
- Not eligible for relocation.
