Job Description: Tender Manager - Data Center Projects

At Schneider Electric, we are committed to solving real-world problems to create a sustainable, digitalised and new electrical future. Our data centers support the world’s leading cloud, hyperscale and colocation players through their digital and energy transformation.

You will join the OneSol Europe Team in charge of all Solution Business activities (Tendering & Execution), with a strong focus on Data Center projects. You will be part of the Cloud & Service Providers (C&SP) organization, supporting Strategic Data Center Accounts across Europe (UK & Ireland, France, Netherlands, BeNe, Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.).

Your Role

Reporting to the Head of Tendering, and working within a team of around ten Tender Managers based across France, the UK and Spain (a growing team, part of the wider C&SP Europe organization of over 100 people), you will lead complex opportunities end-to-end, from qualification through contract award and handover to execution.

You will work on very large-scale projects (Category A, from €50M to over €200M — among the largest in Europe), coordinating a project team of up to around twenty contributors (procurement, finance, legal, contract management, technical, factories) without direct line management. You will operate with full autonomy and be accountable for profitability, compliance, and customer satisfaction on your deals.

Your Missions

  • Define and drive winning tender strategies in collaboration with Key Account Managers to maximize customer value, competitiveness, and profitability
  • Lead the end-to-end tendering process, coordinating cross-functional and international teams across engineering, procurement, finance, legal, services, operations, and project execution
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality technical, commercial, contractual, and financial proposals, fully compliant with Schneider Electric policies and governance
  • Develop pricing strategies, optimize project costs, and secure target margins and cash-flow objectives
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, contractual, financial, and execution risks, working closely with SRM, Legal, and Operations teams
  • Lead customer interactions throughout the tendering cycle, including clarifications, presentations, negotiations, and contract finalization
  • Present tender strategies and offers to management for approval, ensure a structured handover to execution teams, and contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned and win/loss analysis

Your Profile

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in complex solution tendering, proposal management or customer project environments, with proven experience managing large and complex Category A opportunities (€10M–€30M+).

Your Competencies

  • Business & Commercial Acumen: strong customer orientation, pricing strategy, cost management, financial awareness, and profitability focus
  • Tender & Contract Management: expertise in tendering, proposal development, contract management, commercial risk assessment, compliance, and tender governance
  • Leadership & Collaboration: ability to lead and influence cross-functional and multicultural teams, build alignment, and drive results in a matrix organization
  • Communication & Negotiation: strong presentation, stakeholder management, customer engagement, and commercial negotiation skills
  • Experience working in international and matrix organizations is required; experience in Data Centers, Energy Management, Critical Power, Building Solutions or Industrial Projects is highly desirable; knowledge of consortium agreements and complex contractual structures is a plus.
  • Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
