A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Tender Manager in our dynamic Grid Automation team, you will play a pivotal role in driving customer engagement and delivering innovative solutions in the UK transmission sector. You will lead and coordinate proposal activities for Grid Automation solutions, collaborating with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), EPC contractors, developers, and data center customers in a highly collaborative international environment.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the UK transmission and distribution market, customer requirements, procurement processes, and industry trends.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to position Siemens Energy as a preferred partner.
  • Display critical thinking to resolve complex, cross-functional bid challenges successfully.
  • Understand market drivers, customer investment plans, framework agreements, and competitive dynamics.
  • Contribute to bid strategy, value positioning, and bid/no-bid decisions in coordination with the Market Application team and management.
  • Expand your knowledge across the wider Siemens Energy Digital Grid portfolio and support business growth initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in bid management, tender management, project management or engineering roles related to substation secondary systems.
  • Strong understanding of protection, control, and automation solutions within transmission and distribution substations.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, candidates with substantial relevant industry experience and a proven track record in power systems, grid technologies, or electrical engineering will also be considered.
  • Good knowledge of customer requirements, procurement practices, and project delivery models within the UK utility market.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, developers, and data center customers is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with multi-vendor substation automation environments, including IEC 61850 interoperability and integration of protection, control, and SAS systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical, commercial, and strategic considerations.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe.
