Test Analyst / Test Engineer – Contract
Contract: 8–12 weeks
Rate: Up to £400 per day
Location: Mostly remote, with one day per week in Piccadilly
Clearance: Active NPPV or SC clearance required
We are looking for an experienced Test Analyst or Test Engineer to support the delivery of new and updated web-based services. This is a hands-on testing role covering system, integration, end-to-end, regression, and User Acceptance Testing.
Responsibilities
- Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Create detailed test scenarios and test scripts.
- Execute system, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing.
- Test APIs, interfaces, routing rules, and data flows between systems.
- Validate complete user journeys from online submission through to receiving systems.
- Prepare and manage test data.
- Record test results and supporting evidence.
- Raise, investigate, retest, and close defects.
- Support business users during UAT.
- Maintain test scripts, defects, and results in Azure DevOps.
- Report progress, risks, blockers, and testing outcomes.
- Provide a clear handover of test assets at the end of the contract.

Essential experience
- Strong hands-on manual testing experience.
- Experience testing web-based services and integrated systems.
- Experience writing and executing integration and end-to-end test scripts.
- Experience supporting UAT.
- Experience testing APIs and system-to-system data flows.
- Strong defect investigation and documentation skills.
- Experience using Azure DevOps.
- Previous experience within public sector or another regulated environment.
- Active NPPV or SC clearance.
