About Our DVSA Programme
Our partnership with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) ensures secure assessments of prospective new drivers for the Department of Transport. Across over 70 test centres, we deliver millions of Driving Theory Tests annually, including:
- Assessment of candidates’ driving theory knowledge
- Evaluation of hazard perception skills
- Enforcement of DVSA assessment standards and compliance protocols.

Role Description: Senior Test Centre Associate (STCA)
Your primary responsibility is the invigilation of exams and ensuring efficient delivery of tests while maintaining strict adherence to DVSA guidelines and Reed in Partnership’s policies. This includes direct invigilation duties and management oversight of the test centre during shifts.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Candidate management:
- Check ID documents and book candidates into the system
- Test delivery:
- Supervise and invigilate all theory tests
- Implement site opening/closing procedures
- Operations support:
- Coach, mentor, and support Test Centre Associates
- Review the test centre schedule to captivate bookings and manage accommodation requests (e.g., accessibility adjustments)
- Recruitment and coordination:
- Submit DVSA HR notifications for employee absences to arrange cover
- Coordinate with the Test Centre Manager for additional support
- Incident management:
- Handle and report events affecting testing integrity under standardised procedures

Work Schedule Flexibility
Our Senior Test Centre Associate roles offer:
- Part-time or occasional shifts, adaptable to your schedule
- Varied timing options, including:
- Mornings: 8:00 AM – 1:00/2:00 PM
- Afternoons: 12:30/1:00 PM – 5:30/6:30 PM
- Full days: 8:00 AM – 5:30/6:30 PM
- Evenings: 4:30/5:00 PM – 8:30/9:30 PM
- Mixed shifts: Afternoon & Evening, 12 PM/1:00 PM – 8:30/9:30 PM
Middlesbrough Theory Test Centre operates on 5–6 days per week, typically Monday to Saturday, subject to demand.
Availability: ideal candidates must be flexible to work across all operating days and shifts.

Key Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in leading or supervising teams
- Valid UK driving licence is mandatory (though driving may not be required in all locations)
- Significant experience in high-quality customer service delivery
- Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to accuracy
- Flexibility in working hours and days, including evenings and Saturdays
