Tech Technician – Connected Vehicle Services

About the Role

Are you passionate about technology, connected vehicles, and delivering exceptional customer experiences?

We are seeking a Tech Technician to join our Connected Vehicle Services team, supporting the testing, validation, and maintenance of cutting-edge connected car technologies. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring connected services perform reliably and meet the highest quality standards across global markets.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Tech Technician, you will:

  • Execute functional, integration, and regression testing for connected vehicles.
  • Validate connected car features, telematics systems, and customer-facing digital services to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Create and maintain accurate test documentation, reports, and supporting evidence.
  • Perform regression testing following software releases, deployments, and service updates.
  • Support the testing and validation of customer-facing mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Assist with the maintenance and development of automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Manage connected services access tools used to support vehicle test fleets and engineering rigs.
  • Log, track, and verify software defects using established defect management processes.
  • Support incident investigations by reproducing issues and validating corrective actions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience executing test cases, analysing results, and reporting defects.
  • Familiarity with defect management and issue-tracking tools.
  • Test Rig Maintenance
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of connected vehicle services, including telematics, remote vehicle functions, and customer mobile applications.
  • Exposure to test automation tools, scripting, or automated testing frameworks.
  • Understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.
  • Awareness of automotive cybersecurity, data privacy, and industry standards.
  • Experience gained through internships, placements, graduate programmes, or commercial roles within automotive, software, systems, mobile application, or connected services testing.
