Senior Theatre Practitioner & Resus Lead (RGN/ODP)
Location: Haywards Heath Hospital Contract Type: Permanent Department: Nursing Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum, dependent on experience

As a Senior Theatre Practitioner (RGN/ODP) at Nuffield Health Haywards Heath Hospital, you’ll bring clinical expertise, a commitment to patient safety, and a passion for peritheatre care. You’ll lead, mentor, and collaborate with colleagues to uphold excellence in perioperative care.
Key Responsibilities

Patient Safety & Welfare:
- Prioritise patient safety, ensuring proactive reporting and management of concerns.
- Foster a safe working environment for all staff, patients, and visitors (within all policies and compliance frameworks).

- Support quality governance activities, ensuring full compliance with:

- Relevant national standards (CQC, HIW, HIS Regulations, Professional Standards, and evidence-based guidelines).

Patient-Centred Care:
- Deliver kind, dignified, and compassionate care to patients and their families.
- Provide emotional support to assist patients through treatment experiences, fostering resilience.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with clinical colleagues to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Build strong interdisciplinary working relationships.

Theatre Management:
- Assume leadership responsibility for operating theatre schedules, coordination and execution.
- Mentor and supervise junior practitioners to ensure high standards of care delivery.
Requirements
- Qualifications:
- RGN or ODP registration with the appropriate regulatory body (HCPC).
- Experience:
- Post-registration experience in periheatre medicines or Orthodox Surgical Theatre Care.
- A track record demonstrating clinical acumen, teamwork, and flexibility.
- Attributes:
- Ethical integrity with a strong commitment to patient safety.
- Adaptability, focus, and initiative in fast-paced environments.
