Senior Title II Engineering Support Specialist
Location: RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk (Site Based)
Salary: Starting from £65,000 (dependent upon qualifications, experience, and security clearance)

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Title II Engineering Support Specialist to provide technical leadership and engineering assurance in support of United States Air Force infrastructure programmes based at RAF Mildenhall.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager or Programme Director, you will provide senior engineering oversight throughout the construction phase of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring engineering solutions are technically compliant, buildable, and delivered in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and client requirements.
You will act as the principal engineering interface between the client, design consultants, contractors, and project teams, providing technical assurance, resolving engineering issues, and supporting successful programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior engineering support throughout construction and project delivery.
- Lead technical reviews of engineering drawings, specifications, and contractor submissions.
- Review Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, engineering changes, and design modifications.
- Ensure engineering solutions comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements.
- Provide engineering assurance across multiple infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and United States Government representatives.
- Support design verification, quality assurance, and engineering governance processes.
- Manage engineering risks, technical issues, and interface coordination.
- Participate in programme reviews, technical workshops, and client meetings.
- Support commissioning, testing, handover, and project close-out activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and configuration control.

About You
You will be an experienced engineering professional with a proven background supporting complex infrastructure, construction, or defence programmes and capable of providing senior technical leadership throughout project delivery.
Essential
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Significant experience supporting engineering delivery within construction or infrastructure programmes.
- Extensive experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction-phase engineering, design coordination, and technical assurance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple technical interfaces within complex programmes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable
- Previous experience supporting United States Air Force, US Department of Defense (DoD), or US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) infrastructure programmes.
- Experience delivering Title II engineering support or construction administration services.
- Knowledge of MILCON standards and federal design and construction requirements.
- Experience managing engineering change control, RFIs, submittals, and technical approvals.
- Working knowledge of NEC Engineering and Construction Contracts and Design & Build procurement.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or active progress towards professional registration with an appropriate engineering institution.
- Existing BPSS, Security Check (SC) or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain the appropriate clearance.

Security Requirements
This position is subject to successful pre-employment screening and will require the successful candidate to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance, which may include BPSS, Security Check (SC), and client-specific security requirements.
