Your Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tolerancing Analyst to support complex aerospace and defence engineering programmes through the application of dimensional engineering, GD&T, and tolerance analysis expertise. The role will work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions to ensure robust and manufacturable design solutions aligned with product and certification requirements.
The successful candidate will contribute both technically and strategically, supporting capability development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement activities within the wider engineering team.
Your Profile
Extensive experience operating within complex engineering environments. Proven experience within aerospace and defence design assurance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry governance and certification standards. Strong understanding of Airbus business tolerancing processes and their practical application. Proficiency in 3D tolerance analysis, including the use of tools such as mecaMASTER. Advanced GD&T expertise, with a deep working knowledge of ISO-based geometric tolerancing standards. Ability to define functional datums, tolerance zones, and engineering requirements in line with product intent. Comprehensive knowledge of international standards, including ISO GPS, ISO 286, and ASME Y14.5. Expertise in tolerance stack-up analysis, with the ability to assess cumulative variation across complex assemblies. Strong understanding of fit and functional requirements, including clearance, transition, and interference fits, and their impact on product performance. Experience with specialised tolerancing tools, including KCnT Suite Database and Analyser. Excellent technical communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Demonstrated capability in cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with design, manufacturing, and quality teams. Commitment to coaching and mentoring, providing structured knowledge transfer to support the development of junior engineers. Team leadership experience, including performance management, regular check-ins, annual appraisals, and supporting individual career development. Capability development and workforce growth, including upskilling, talent development, and promoting continuous improvement. Client engagement and stakeholder management, including representing the capability at workshops and onsite engagements. Recruitment and resourcing support, including leading interviews, providing candidate feedback, and contributing to job offer preparation.
