Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering a range of projects. You'll be tasked with:
- Leading planning projects from concept to completion, ensuring exceptional outcomes.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and associated documentation.
- Conducting site appraisals, feasibility studies, and planning assessments.
- Advising clients on planning policies, regulations, and strategic approaches.
- Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and industry professionals to secure successful outcomes.
- Representing clients during planning committees, public consultations, and appeals.
- Mentoring junior team members to foster growth within the team.
- Staying informed on updates to planning legislation and best practices.

Your Expertise
We're looking for a skilled planning professional who meets the following criteria:
- A degree in Town Planning (or a related field) with RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) membership or eligibility for membership.
- Significant experience in a planning consultancy or local authority setting, with in-depth knowledge of the UK planning system.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise reports.
- Exceptional project management skills with a demonstrated ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, solution-driven approach to challenges.
- Confident communication and engagement skills when working with clients, stakeholders, and authorities.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
What Your Day Will Look Like
No two days are alike in this role, but some of the regular activities include:
- Preparing planning applications, reports, and appeals.
- Visiting sites to assess development opportunities and potential constraints.
- Collaborating closely with clients to understand their goals and provide strategic advice.
- Attending meetings with local authorities, consultants, and other planning professionals.
- Researching and interpreting planning policies, legislation, and best practices.
- Representing clients at consultations, committees, or appeals when required.
