Senior Trade Control Analyst – Commodity Trading House
📍 London | Hybrid
💰 Up to £80,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Please only apply if you have previous commodity trading experience supporting Gas, Power, LNG, Emissions or Oil markets. Applications without relevant commodity trading experience will not be considered.
A leading international commodity trading organisation is looking to hire a Senior Trade Control Analyst for its London-based Middle Office team.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across physical and financial energy markets. You’ll work closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Technology, taking ownership of key controls while helping improve systems, automation, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily trade validation and control activities across physical and financial transactions
- Validate positions, P&L, market data, and pricing curves
- Monitor trade lifecycle events, ensuring accurate booking and system representation
- Execute market conformity, trading mandate, and regulatory controls
- Support month-end and quarter-end control processes
- Investigate trade, pricing, and position discrepancies
- Mentor junior analysts and support their technical development
- Partner with Front Office and Technology on automation, system enhancements, and process improvements

Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in Trade Control, Middle Office, Product Control, or Market Risk within commodity trading
- Strong knowledge of Gas, Power, LNG, Emissions, and/or Oil Derivatives
- Understanding of both physical and financial trading activities
- Knowledge of EMIR, REMIT, MiFID II, or Dodd-Frank is advantageous
- Strong Excel skills; SQL, VBA, Python, Power BI, or Endur experience is beneficial
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
