Senior Traded Risk Stress Testing Manager

We‘re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Traded Risk Stress Testing Manager. The Stress Testing Senior Manager is an innovative and results-driven individual with a deep understanding of financial instruments in the context of both market and traded credit risk frameworks. They will have extensive experience as market and/or counterparty risk manager and good understanding of stress testing within the Risk Management and Regulatory landscapes. The role holder will be responsible for driving the enhancement our stress testing analytical and reporting capabilities to support the integration of strategic state architecture into BAU risk management framework and alignment with industry best-practice. The role offers the opportunity to interact with a wide range of stakeholders across HSBC including Traded Risk Management (both Market and Credit), Treasury Risk, Front Office, Group Risk Analytics, various Finance teams. In this role you will: • Ensure that the Traded Risk Stress Testing is appropriately defined and scoped, promoting and implementing synergies and efficiencies while securing an optimal and best in class risk framework • Transform Senior Management strategies and questions into practical stress testing processes to inform risk-reward decisions • Identify exposures or topics of concern arising from the stress testing exercises, and escalate to risk managers for further review and discussion • Challenge control and risk owners to ensure that risk vulnerabilities are identified and monitored via stress testing. • Respond to and, when required, interact directly with regulators on Stress Testing within Traded Risk management topics To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: • Experience of Regulatory and BAU stress testing across Traded & Treasury and/or Counterparty Credit risk types • Strong knowledge of risk-related regulations, their application/impact in banking industry and a specific understanding of key capital regulations • A track-record of interacting with regulators and managing regulatory interaction, with the UK, ECB, and Hong Kong regulators a particular benefit • Strong interpersonal skills that supports the ability to work in a dynamic environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time • Excellent business writing, communication, presentation and influencing skills • Very good understanding of financial products including derivatives, macro-economics, econometrics and financial markets Opening up a world of opportunity.
