Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To maintain the smooth and efficient operation of our trading desks, providing operational support and expertise to traders, sales professionals, and other key stakeholders, helping them maximize their productivity and minimize disruptions and handling administrative tasks, and providing market information and research.
Accountabilities
- Provision of immediate and efficient technical support to traders and sales professionals on the trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure uninterrupted trading activities.
- Coordination of trade execution by liaising with traders, clients, and other internal teams to ensure smooth transactions.
- Maintenance and updating of trade records, transaction logs, and client databases accurately.
- Reports, presentations, and documentation preparation to support sales and trading activities.
- Monitoring of market data and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
- Operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving trade discrepancies.

- Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.

Trading & Sales Assistant - Macro
Join Barclays in the role of Trading & Sales Assistant - Macro, where you will ensure the timely and accurate capture of contractual obligations on the Firm’s systems across the Macro Business. This involves the entering and accepting the economic terms of any trades into Trade Capture Systems, inclusive of subsequent Risk Modifying Activities on that trade, and encompasses a broad range of Trade Capture activity types and systems. This is to meet both our regulatory and internal control requirements.

In role, you will support the GBP & EUR Trading desk with a focus on regulatory controls and risk. Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Booking of inter-entity trades facing BBI (EUR desk specific)
- Washbook monitoring (across EUR & GBP desk)
- Pending Blotters monitoring (GBP and EUR desk)
- Slate and Match process (EUR & GBP)
Requirements
To be successful as a Trading and Sales Assistant you should have:
- Significant experience in an operational environment.
- Knowledge and experience of Rates Derivatives ideally within a direct Trading or Sales Assistant capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in one of the following subjects: Mathematics/Computer Science/Business/Finance.
- Understand the Front to Back lifecycle of a trade and its associated risks to the firm and to clients.
Other Highly Valued Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of VBA, SQL, or Python.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience gained in high volume House and client service environment.

Location
This role will be based at 1 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London.
