Job Description Summary

Senior Transformer Diagnostics Specialist

Electrification | Remote | Permanent

This is a unique opportunity to bring your deep transformer diagnostics expertise into a specialist role that sits at the heart of monitoring and diagnostics. As the only role of its kind in this area, you help shape how critical transformer asset health is understood, interpreted, and acted on across the business.

You are the trusted technical authority for transformer condition monitoring, dissolved gas analysis, oil diagnostics, partial discharge, and bushing monitoring. You turn complex technical data into clear insight, helping customers and internal teams make confident decisions that improve reliability, strengthen asset performance, and support lifecycle management.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, you lead the resolution of complex technical issues, support continuous improvement, and influence how monitoring and diagnostics expertise is applied across service delivery. You partner closely with engineering, product management, quality, field service, and commercial teams to improve product performance, strengthen support practices, and deliver excellent customer outcomes.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • You assess transformer health using online monitoring systems, dissolved gas analysis, oil diagnostics, and related condition monitoring techniques.
  • You interpret diagnostic data to identify emerging faults, insulation aging, and other risks to transformer reliability.
  • You provide expert guidance to customers and internal teams on transformer monitoring strategies, asset health assessment, and maintenance decisions.
  • You investigate complex issues, support escalations, and help drive effective, timely resolutions.
  • You prepare clear technical reports, summaries, and recommendations for a range of audiences.
  • You contribute to continuous improvement by sharing insights that enhance products, services, and diagnostic methods.
  • You support and mentor colleagues by sharing your specialist knowledge in transformer diagnostics and condition monitoring.
  • You work closely with laboratory and field data, helping maintain strong data quality and diagnostic integrity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
