Senior Transport Planner – Transport & Infrastructure (Bristol)
Location
Permanent, Full-Time Bristol Central or Bristol North office
About the Role
Pegasus Group is seeking talented and experienced Senior Transport Planners to join our growing Transport Team, supporting multidisciplinary project work throughout the development life cycle: from site selection/due diligence and appraisal to planning, design, implementation, and delivery.
You will play a critical role in producing essential deliverables, including:
- Access Strategies
- Transport Assessments/Statements
- Travel Plans
- Construction Traffic Management Plans
- Parking Strategies
- Sustainable mobility and Active Travel interventions
- Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) shared elements
- Liaison with highways authorities, stakeholders, and local communities
- Supporting S106 negotiations
This role provides valuable exposure across diverse sectors and projects, working closely with Directors under a structured mentorship programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating in initial project scoping, constraint studies, and evidence gathering for new and existing developments
- Producing comprehensive Transport Assessments in line with the NPPF, DMRB, Manual for Streets, and LTN 1/20 guidelines
- Preparing TfL/TfW Travel Plans and mobility recommendations to support Active Travel initiatives
- Developing Construction Traffic Management Plans using Junctions 11 (Picady/Arcady) and LinSig Modelling
- Supporting Environmental Impact Assessments, emphasising transport and accessibility impacts
- Engaging with highway authorities, planning teams, and stakeholders to negotiate sustainable solutions
- Delivering clear reports to developments, planning authorities, and Transport for London/Transport Scotland authorities

Person Specification – Must-Have Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in (preferably) Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines
- Master’s qualification in Transport would be highly advantageous
- Advanced proficiency in TRICS database for data collection and analysis
- Expertise in using ** transport modelling software** (including Junctions 11 and LinSig)
- Knowledge of UK transport policy frameworks (NPPF, DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTNs, TfW design standards)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and S106 negotiations
- Strong collaborative mindset, with an ability to work across client teams, highways bodies, and community groups
