Senior Transport Planner - Bristol
Senior Transport Planner – Bristol (Full Time, Permanent)
Location: Bristol Central or Bristol North | Contract: Permanent
About the Role
Pegasus Group is seeking talented and experienced Senior Transport Planners to join our expanding Transport Team in either our Bristol Central or Bristol North offices. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting, complex transport planning projects across a variety of sectors and project scales, from site selection, due diligence, and appraisal to implementation and delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing Access Strategies, Transport Assessments/Statements, Travel Plans, Construction Traffic Management Plans, and Parking Strategies
- Delivering Sustainable Transport and Active Travel solutions
- Undertaking junction modelling (using Junctions 11 and Arcady/Picady, LinSig)
- Acting as a key contributor to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
- Supporting S106 negotiations and liaising with local highway authorities
Alongside expert guidance from Directors and the Transport team, successful candidates will gain valuable industry experience while contributing to sustainable, transformative developments for our diverse client base.

Your Expertise & Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates with:
- A degree in a related subject (postgraduate qualifications in transport are desirable)
- Strong knowledge of policy and guidance documents, including:
- National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)
- Department for Transport Manual for Streets
- Local Transport Note 1/20 (LTN 1/20) and DMRB
- Proficiency in using TRICS for transport data management
- Proficiency in junction modelling software (e.g., Junctions 11, Arcady/Picady, LinSig)
- ** Outstanding written and verbal communication skills**, with experience collaborating with:
- Clients and stakeholders
- Project teams
- Highway authorities
- Community groups
