The Opportunity
The Senior Treasury Manager – Banking and Strategy supports BKNG Treasury specifically for the Agoda brand. Reporting primarily to the Director, Corporate Treasurer (Agoda team) with dotted-line support from the Global Head of Banking, Strategy and Technology in Amsterdam, this strategic position spans global banking operations, commercial management, banking infrastructure, and treasury strategy—covering the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.
Your role willdrive regulatory-compliant banking solutions, operational improvement, and technology adoption (including AI and automation), while leading a global team through people development, strategic execution, and cross-functional collaboration. Future scope may include extending support to other Booking Holdings brands.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Banking Operations
- Global banking oversight: Lead and support worldwide banking operations across Americas, EMEA, and APAC, managing relationships with banks, fees, interest, and liquidity.
- Commercial negotiations: Drive high-stakes discussions with core and non-core banking partners to optimize fees, credit terms, and cash management, including advanced techniques like:
- Account balance yield enhancement
- Cash pooling
- FX SWAPs
- POBO/ROBO deployments
- Cash repatriation from regulated markets
- Solution development: Design and advocate regulatory-compliant, future-proof banking products and technologies in partnership with the Center of Expertise in Amsterdam, including SWIFT, H2H, H2P, and API integrations, leveraging modern treasury infrastructure and advanced connectivity standards.
- Collaborate with the Treasury Centre in Amsterdam to align policies on wallet management, connectivity, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement process improvements in collaboration with Treasury Data Science/Analytics and Banking Technology teams to adopt AI automation, enhancing both cost efficiency and user experience.
Operations & Compliance
- Oversee adoption of banking platform regulations (e.g., SWIFT Net, H2H, TMS) and their integration with Treasury Management Systems (TMS), ERP solutions, and banking platforms across brands.
- Global BAM governance: Ensure compliance with Bank Account Management (BAM), KYC standards, signatory controls, platform access, and reporting (aligned with Booking Holdings’ Banking Administration/KYC processes).
- Strategic and risk alignment: Design, implement, and maintain process and control frameworks to meet internal control requirements (e.g., SOX standards), manage operational risks, and safeguard business resilience.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives in agency, payments, and new revenue models, defining outcomes, stakeholder management, and project delivery across global teams.

People Management & Team Development
- People leadership: Inspire a high-performing team, fostering continuous professional growth through mentorship, accountability, and motivation, enabling collective success in complex financial landscapes.
- Global strategy input: Construct long-term banking operating models (people, systems, processes), aligning with the company’s strategy, while defining data-driven recommendations and cross-regional capabilities.
Regulatory & Stakeholder Advocacy
- Regulatory alignment: Support adherence with banking, payments, tax, legal, and AML/sanctions frameworks, ensuring compliance across global platforms.
- Emerging markets focus: Focus on complex regions, including advanced optimizations for Asia-Pacific and cross-border fund flow models involving markets from regional Asia to G10 hubs (e.g., Hong Kong, Singapore, India).
- Innovation partnership: Partner with Treasury, Finance, and Technology to champion AI automation and Six Sigma methodology for continuous improvement.
Requirements
Education & Executable Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field mandatory. Master’s degree or treasury qualifications (e.g., Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Diploma in Treasury Management (AMCT) by ACT) preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in treasury, banking, or financial services, with expertise spanning:
- Banking strategy (wallet management, fees, credit, interest)
- Advanced financial techniques: FX management, cash pooling, repatriation, and risk assessment.
- Experience working with corporate, retail, or multiregional bank networks.
- Regional banking acumen: Strong understanding of Asia-Pacific markets, including intra- and inter-regional fund flow optimizations across Asia-G10 brands preferred.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Expertise in Treasury Management Systems (TMS), high-value payments architectures (SWIFT/H2H/Open Banking), and ERP integration processes.
- Deep knowledge of payments infrastructure (e.g., H2P/ROBO/POBO accounts, structured processes, system checks).
- Proficient in technical SLA management, including workflow automation and process balances (COA, accountings).
- Cross-system connectivity experience spanning corporate cash management with banks, account access, and foreign exchange transfers.
