Reporting to: Senior Consultant Business area: WGSN Mindset

Function: Consultancy

Location: London, UK – Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week office-based)

Salary: Competitive market rate salary

Role Overview

As a Senior Trend Researcher, you will:

  • Collaborate with a global team of consultants to develop solution-driven qualitative and quantitative analyses tailored to clients’ needs while delivering on strategic consultancy initiatives.
  • Apply broad experience in research, analysis, and strategy to large-scale projects and trend forecasting.
  • Hold a relevant BA-level qualification in fashion along with industry experience in either:
    • Agency-side consultancy for fashion retail projects.
    • Brand/retailer environments, with experience in buying, design, or trend roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Work with senior colleagues to employ methodologies and frameworks for all project teams and deliver actionable insights to benefit clients.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research across diverse methodologies, providing commercially sound recommendations.
  • Insight Sharing: Proactively contribute new ideas to innovate and present trends that impact clients’ businesses, positioning Mindset as industry thought leaders.
  • Communication: Present concepts, findings, and reports effectively in writing, visually, digitally, or orally, tailoring messages for peers, project leads, or stakeholders.
  • Project Support: Assist with project management, administration, and collaborative tasks.
  • Pitch Collaboration: Contribute to developing pirch documentation that engages clients.
  • External Engagement: Present to key clients, stakeholders, and competitor gatherings, including Q&A sessions and workshops.
  • Travel: Frequently travel nationally and internationally for high-value projects.
  • Teamwork: Maintain strong organisation, collaboration, and communication skills to ensure high-quality strategy and consistent output across diverse clients/time zones.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential Criteria

CategoryDetails
QualificationsBA-level qualification in fashion or design and related industry experience.
Agency-side or Brand ExperienceExperience in product direction and strategy at brand/retailer or consultancy agency-level.
Trend AwarenessIn-depth knowledge of trends, consumer research, and market analysis. Advantageous if experienced in new product development changes in the fashion industry.
Data Analytics--------Proficiency in analysing data and identifying trends to impact commercial success.
English Writing--------Strong written communication skills in fashion and product terminology.
Presentation Skills---Demonstrated experience presenting to stakeholders, clients, and events.
Technical Skills-------Microsoft Office, Google Workspace proficient. Knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) as a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Software proficiency in trend visualisation or fashion forecasting tools is highly desirable.
