Senior Underwriter/Senior Underwriting Manager

Key Responsibilities

Case Underwriting & Financial Performance
- Lead a team of Underwriters to ensure high efficiency and profitability
- Achieve income and profit objectives via effective case underwriting delivery
- Collaborate with strategic management to align with divisional plans and personal goals

Team Leadership & Development
- Act as the primary mentor for less experienced Underwriters
- Facilitate training, development, and guidance for the team

Portfolio & Strategy Oversight
- Monitor product retention, rates, and underwriting strategies
- Report on key performance areas, ensuring operational alignment
- Maintain visibility on authority limits for renewals, new business, and referrals

Case Handling & Authority Management
- Manage renewal and new business cases within allocated underwriting parameters
- Evaluate and process referral cases beyond Underwriter authority levels, adhering to individual guidelines

Compliance & Process Adherence
- Strict adherence to company policies, NUH standards, and best practices
- Conduct regular case reviews to enforce technical procedures

External Relationships & Market Intelligence
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key brokers
- Develop technical expertise and support client-centric underwriting solutions
- Gather and share market insights to inform underwriting and commercial strategies

- Work closely with regions, claims, and survey teams to ensure cohesive handling
