Senior Underwriter – Property D&F

London / Hybrid

We are hiring a Senior Underwriter to join our growing D&F Property London based team. With real opportunity to influence how the portfolio develops, you'll work in an underwriting-led culture that empowers our people, values technical excellent and supports autonomy. In this market-facing, trading role you'll help shape and grow our D&F Property offering, underwriting complex risks across international and specialty business. The opportunity

Underwrite Direct & Facultative Property risks, with exposure to complex, international business Play a key role in the establishment and growth of the D&F Property portfolio, helping define appetite, focus areas and strategy Build and strengthen relationships with London Market and international brokers, positioning QBE as a credible, long‑term D&F partner Contribute to the development and delivery of the business plan, supporting profitable and sustainable growth Act as a senior technical referral point, bringing strong underwriting judgement and market insight Maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, capacity and pricing across the D&F Property space Ensure underwriting activity aligns with QBE’s underwriting standards, reinsurance strategy and regulatory requirements Work closely with internal stakeholders across underwriting, operations and leadership as the proposition evolves

About You

Experience within Property Underwriting, International or US Deep technical understanding of Property wordings, structures and programme design A commercial and entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in a build and growth environment Confidence and credibility when engaging with brokers and senior stakeholders Excellent negotiation, communication and decision‑making skills A collaborative approach, with the gravitas expected at senior underwriter level

Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.
