The Major Accounts Division of Chubb in the UKI focusses on complex and risk managed Insureds, who have an annual Turnover in excess of $500m. The majority of these clients are underwritten within the London branch, and the division has seen sizeable growth and continued strong profitability over a number of years. Continuing profitable growth is a key priority for the business, with a focus on aligning the changing needs and wants of customers with sound underwriting judgement and risk selection. With dedicated market leading experienced professionals, the Major Accounts division is primed for further growth in the coming years, and we need an experienced Senior Underwriter to help ensure our success in the UKI business. Role Purpose To set, implement and achieve underwriting profit goals in Property Major Risks in accordance with business plan. To ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of capacity whilst working within Chubb’s underwriting guidelines and controls, consistency of approach towards risk selection, pricing, and use of capacity whilst recognising market conditions. Key Responsibilities: Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan. Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability. To ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews. Prioritise and develop products within area of specialist expertise in order to improve client retention and new business. This may involve collaborating with peers within and across business lines in Europe as well as globally. Represent and promote CHUBB corporately to brokers, internal and external clients domestically and overseas. This may involve servicing key producers and clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention as well as maximising cross-selling opportunities. Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues. Represent and promote CHUBB and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and clients as well as major domestic and overseas clients. Work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards.
