Senior Urban Drainage Modeller – UK & Ireland

The needs of our clients are evolving, and so are we. As we rapidly expand our teams, we’re looking for Senior Urban Drainage Modellers to join our offices in Cambridge, Brighton, London, Ashford, Kings Hill, Southampton & High Wycombe. You’ll work with an established national team driving forward projects in:
- Catchment growth
- Flood risk reduction
- Water quality improvement
Urban drainage sits at the heart of wider water cycle and urban planning, with sustainability and environmental commitments central to everything we do.
We thrive on innovation—collaborating to develop smart digital solutions. This role offers the chance to be part of an ambitious, interdisciplinary team making a measurable impact on communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for urban drainage modelling projects.
- Develop and deliver innovative solutions for:
- Stormwater overflows
- Water quality management
- Developer assessments
- Flood investigations (and beyond)
- Collaborate with specialist wastewater modelling teams to enhance processes and tools.
- Plan, coordinate, and cost project delivery.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members, ensuring high-quality outputs.

About You
Stantec is looking for qualified leaders with:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (or a related field), plus membership of a recognised institution (e.g. ICEF, CIWEM).
- Proven experience leading urban drainage projects, demonstrating expertise across:
- InfoWorks ICM (full proficiency required)
- Stormwater overflows
- Water quality assessments
- Flood risk modelling
- Proven track record in staff management and development, with strong teamwork and technical influence capabilities.
