About dunnhumby

dunnhumby is the global leader in Customer Data Science, partnering with the world’s most ambitious retailers and brands to put the customer at the heart of every decision. We combine deep insight, advanced technology, and close collaboration to help our clients grow, innovate, and deliver measurable value for their customers.

dunnhumby employs nearly 2,500 experts in offices throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas working for transformative, iconic brands such as Tesco, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Unilever, and Metro.

We’re looking for a Senior User Researcher to join our team. It’s an exciting opportunity to shape the future of retail data and to work with market-leading retailers and suppliers. As a Senior User Researcher, you'll ensure our B2B products and services meet the needs of retailers, suppliers, and internal consultants, uncovering how they engage with what we offer and translating those insights into recommendations that shape strategy, product, and design decisions.

What you’ll be working on

  • Design and execute end-to-end research projects using various qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover user needs and behaviours.
  • Drive business impact by translating research findings into actionable insights and recommendations that guide the product strategy and roadmap – influencing business, product, and design decisions.
  • Create compelling and concise deliverables, including reports, presentations, and workshops, to communicate research insights effectively.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally by bringing together product, design, engineering, and business teams to align and foster collaboration in addressing client challenges.
  • Push for user-centricity by advocating for the value of user research and evangelise research insights, promoting a user-centred mindset across teams and stakeholders.
  • Democratise research by mentoring colleagues on best practices for embedding research into product development and design processes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve the impact of user research.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate the mechanics of research – transcription, tagging, clustering, first-pass synthesis – while personally validating outputs for accuracy, applying the scrutiny that separates a defensible insight from a plausible-sounding one.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
