About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UX Designer I to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the design strategy for a specific product or business line, ensuring that all solutions are rooted in a deep understanding of user needs and supported by data-driven insights. Your primary focus will be to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, developers, and researchers—to craft innovative, user-centered experiences that meet organizational goals and exceed customer expectations. Additionally, you will mentor junior designers, influence product development, and advocate for best practices in user experience design. Your work will directly impact the usability, accessibility, and overall success of our products, helping LexisNexis maintain its position as an industry innovator.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in user experience design, complemented by excellent communication and leadership skills. Candidates should have a proven track record of leading design initiatives in complex environments and a thorough understanding of user-centered design principles. Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite is essential. A background in working with cross-functional teams, conducting user research, and utilizing data analytics to inform design decisions is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for innovation, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies. A bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall design strategy for a specific business or product line, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user needs.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer use cases to inform design solutions that deliver value and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and research teams, to drive innovation and ensure cohesive product development.
- Advocate for customer-centric design principles within agile teams, fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement based on user insights.
- Engage customers in the design process through interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions to incorporate real-world insights into product innovation.
- Apply mastery of user-centered design processes, including wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing, to create intuitive and accessible interfaces.
- Partner with UX Researchers to understand user needs thoroughly and proactively utilize insights to refine designs.
- Use data analytics and key performance metrics to evaluate design effectiveness and inform ongoing improvements.
- Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative, innovative team environment.
