Senior Veterinary Surgeon (Surgical Focus) – Flexible Role
Salary: Up to £65,000 (FTE, DOE)
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Vet with a strong surgical bias to join our dynamic, expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the evolution of surgery in practice, support junior colleagues, and thrive in a flexible, collaborative environment.
The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality surgical and small animal care to a diverse caseload, including dentistry, small furries, and exotics.
- Mentor junior team members, ensuring consistent clinical standards and professional growth.
- Drive service development, with a focus on refining and expanding surgical treatments within the practice.
- Offer flexible support (predominantly weekdays, occasional early Saturday mornings, max 1-in-4).
- Collaborate with a veterinary team in a collaborative, inclusive practice culture.
- Contribute to team well-being and continuous professional development (CPD).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
