Senior Vice President – Fundamental Analyst (Credit Practices Group): Asset Finance
About the Role
Morningstar DBRS’s Fundamental Ratings Team is seeking a highly motivated individual with a deep and broad interest in Asset Finance to join its team as a Senior Vice President within the Credit Practices Group.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- At least 15 years of experience, preferably with significant time at a rating agency covering sectors within Asset Finance (e.g., Project Finance, PPP, and Infrastructure).
- Collaboration across rating committees, methodology alignment, and leadership in thought leadership development.
Key Responsibilities

Analytical & Sector Leadership
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on Asset Finance, Project Finance, PPP, and Infrastructure, advising broader analytical teams.
- Address complex credit issues, aligning methodology applications with macro-economic and sector trends.

Committee & Strategy Engagement
- Participate in and chair rating committees, driving consistent credit assessments.
- Identify and communicate systemic risks and cross-sector themes influencing credit quality.

Methodology & Research
- Support the development, refinement, and maintenance of Morningstar DBRS methodologies across asset classes.
Requirements
Mandatory Experience & Education
- 10+ years of fundamental credit analysis (preferably at a rating agency, lending institution, or private credit platform).
- Deep familiarity with Project Finance, PPP, and Infrastructure evaluation.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis frameworks and scented intuition for robustness.
- Proven ability to mentor analytical teams while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and detail-oriented capabilities.
- Multitasking grace and proactive collaboration.
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, data science, economics, or related field.
- Preferred: MBA, Master’s, CFA certification or comparable.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary (GBP): £134,700 – £195,566 (annual).
- Annual Bonus Target: 30% (dependent on qualifications, experience, and other role-specific factors).
Work Model
Hybrid: Comm_requendality: Meet in-office two days each week for meaningful collaboration. Flexibility in remote flexibility, tools to support global collaboration.
